Re: New Person with Pudendal Nerve Disorder
Thanks for your comments Helen. I too have noticed that stretching does not cause immediate PN discomfort but may cause significant discomfort later. When I made my PN much worse by working in the woods and lifting heavy logs, I felt perfectly fine at the time. It was several days later that I noti...

Re: MA/NH therapists
However, things have really gone terribly down hill as she has been focusing on trying to get me to strengthen my glutes and abs, in theory, to take pressure off of the pelvic floor muscles. This approach may work with many forms of pelvic floor dysfunction, however, I don't think it works well wit...

Re: MA/NH therapists
So far she done a walking biomechanical assessment, assessment of tension internally and externally, myofascial release, and prescribed stretching exercises. Also diet and hydration has been reviewed and advised. In a future session she will have one of her colleagues assess my cycling form, which i...

Re: Why do my pn symptoms disappear while in the pool?
TriMaverick, is zone 2 training essentially just warming the body up just enough through exercise? Do you suppose I should slap in a tube of lidocaine and attempt a jog? My beloved yoga only seems to worsen my pain afterward . Running was my other preferred activity in past life before kids/pain. D...

Re: MA/NH therapists
I am now in for August 13 at Marathon Physical Therapy, but I wonder if the general "pelvic floor wait list" resulted in a miscommunication. Anyone familiar with Laura Robbins?

Re: Why do my pn symptoms disappear while in the pool?
This is an interesting discussion. Not sure if you have had any good info pizzarios, but I have :) Yes Tri, I guess ice will only actually relieve inflammation on a newish or aggravated injury? Although it is also soothing for burning/intense tingling. How do you work out zoned endorphins Tri? I ha...

Re: Why do my pn symptoms disappear while in the pool?
Ice will not loosen muscles, but easy muscle activity in the pool will minus the pressure points. You get stretch that you don't get with most dry land activities, including a yoga exercise off the walls, which could go either way. I used to find flip turns painful. Alternatively if you were over Zo...

Re: Sleep-related painful erections
Thanks, it makes sense. Now if only the published journal articles could be so thorough maybe we'd have better diagnostics and treatment.

Re: MA/NH therapists
Marathon has several locations, and I think the pelvic floor therapists are in Newton. I contacted the location of the woman you mentioned and spoke with her. It's the same three month wait. I called Nashoba Valley since my insurance favored it. Apparently neither of those therapists are still there...
