3 years post decompression surgery

I just wondered if anyone knows for how long after surgery I can expect to see improvement in my pain? I ask as it has now been just over 3 years since my surgery, and although there was some reduction in my pain at around the 9-12 month stage I haven't experienced any further improvement since. I a...

Re: Advice 10 months post op

Hi Positivepoppy I haven't been on the forum recently so apologies for the delay in replying to your msg. Now at 15 months post op I've had about a 20% improvement in pain. I don't regret having the surgery as I'm no longer house bound with it! I had trouble standing, walking & sitting preoperat...

Advice 10 months post op

Hi everyone I am now 10 months post Pudendal decompression surgery and still struggling. The nerve was found to be crushed & stretched prior to release. I'm on 600mg Lyrica, 60 duloxetine, Zapain & PRN oral morphine. My walking distance has improved a little and my resting pain when lying ha...

Re: Getting treated under the NHS in the UK

Hi PM I actually managed to get my PCT to pay for my surgery at Spire as it wasn't available at Frenchay. Used the info on site as evidence for clinical effectiveness and argued about my poor quality of life i.e. pain and disability. It helps having a supportive GP. I also had to go though the indiv...

Re: Post operative follow up experience

Thanks everyone for your replies and advice. Maybe I'm expecting to much to soon. My GP has agreed to write to Dr Greenslade for advice. It's good to hear similar stories from people who can empathise with my position. The whole thing really gets me down watching life pass by!

Thanks again

Post operative follow up experience

Hi everyone it's been a long time since I posted anything on here as I have been having a tough time of things generally! Just wondering what follow up arrangements post decompression surgery people have experienced ? I had surgery in January at Spire Bristol hospital and my follow up has consisted ...

Re: Nerve blocks

Hi I agree the stats of 70% are high for PN injections. Mine are now done on the NHS so are free at the point of use. Agree with Calluna hindsight is wonderful, my 1st inj made my pain worse initially but thankfully settled. I know I need three to satisfy Mr Wong and Dr Greenslade. I thinks stats ca...

Re: Nerve blocks

Hi Helen Thanks for sharing the presentations with us. Dr Greenslade told me exactly the same thing about nerve blocks when I first saw him. He was very up beat about possibility of curing me with blocks! I am having blocks now every 4 weeks. Had two already, one left, so far diagnostic but only tra...

Re: PN Surgery at Bristol halted due to funding.

Hi update on Bristol See Dr Greenslade last week Surgery not suspended due to lack of funding but because it has to pass through the ' new procedures panel 'at Frenchay. Apparently process take 12 months once submitted to the panel, which at the moment has yet still to be submitted by the managers r...
