Re: Progress with Dorsal Nerve Decompression
Thanks for asking about me. Well, I have good news and bad news. The good news is that returning to PT made a difference. I have gotten my pain levels back down somewhat, and I have lowered my Gabapentin dosage such that my GI system is back to normal again. Hooray! I haven't even been to PT since J...

Re: Insomnia
I have been having trouble sleeping, too. I have terminal insomnia, which means I have no difficulty falling asleep but I wake up early. I can only get 4 hours or so. I have been taking Ambien, which has helped a lot. Last night I tried to sleep without it and again I woke up without it. I think mos...

Re: Having a really really bad time!!
Hi Stratts. Sorry to hear that you're in pain. While all of us have different problems, we understand to some extent what you are going through. Hang in there, and I hope you can find something that alleviates your pain. Biker George.

Re: Life
Both the skin of the penis and the tissue inside the penis are innervated by the pudendal nerve. There is one branch of the pudendal nerve called the dorsal nerve to the penis, and there is another branch called the perineal branch. The dorsal nerve is the main nerve and among other things it innerv...

Re: Regress with Dorsal Nerve Decompression
I wish I could retitle this entire post "Progress and Regress with Dorsal Nerve Decompression", because all of the progress that I made in the six months after surgery with Dr. Dellon seems to have evaporated in the course of just 10 days. In the last week I have found my pain levels incre...

Re: Nerve transplant?
Thanks, Mahzi. Much appreciated. I am going to try some nerve gliding exercises and hopefully those will help. Biker George.

Re: Progress with Dorsal Nerve Decompression
Had a tough day again today. Am going back on Cymbalta (30 mg) and Gabapentin. Hopefully only temporarily on the latter. Discomfort level increasing without a corresponding explanation. (Although I did play roadie of sorts for a large musical gig yesterday, so maybe that was the reason.) I've been s...

Re: Nerve transplant?
Never mind. Nerve transfers are used only as a last resort when there is almost no nerve function. Apparently transplanted nerves apparently only help restore some, but not much, sensation.

Re: Nerve transplant?
I started looking into this topic too because of the fact that my own recovery seems to be hitting a plateau. I don't think there are many surgeons who would attempt such an operation. I imagine it has already been tried, and I imagine that if the operation had been successful we would have heard ab...
