Re: Drg failure
Like Grammy, I had a brutal DRG trial implant, but it made things worse. Thankfully once it was out it felt better. But trial was a total failure. I have no idea where and how many leads were placed. My new pain management doctor is trying to get my records to see what was done, but I dread going th...

Re: amniotic allograft injections
Hi, re Dr Jarnigan’s success rate. A woman showed up in January on the Facebook forum, Pudendal Hope. She claimed that she had been cured by his procedure and started aggressively promoting it. To make a long story short, only one person was cured. Many were not. It was impossible to determine the s...

Re: Amitriptyline and Lyrica memory effects
Rick: I was on 800 mg. of Lyrica a day for 1.5 years and the MD added 60 mg. Cymbalta. I was fuzzy headed on the Lyrica, but noticed no increase in this side effect when the Cymbalta was added.
I too noticed a weird taste in my mouth when I was weaned off Lyrica.

Re: Amitriptyline and Lyrica memory effects
I can verify the "lost word" pre-Alzheimer side effects of Lyrica. The good news is that all of the mental fuzziness, dizziness, etc. caused by Lyrica go away completely once it's out of your system. Unfortunately, after trying opioids, I may be going back to gabapentin (cheaper) or Lyrica...

Fainting Caused by Lyrica
I have been on a large dose of Lyrica (800 mg/day) for about 14 months. I also take Cymbalta and Tramadol. A few days ago, I keeled over face down in the grocery store. All of a sudden my heart started racing, then I got confusion and visual disturbances, I thought "I am going to faint" an...

Re: first time post re: Prof Robert in France
Sadie- "When in hell, keep going." Who said that? Winston Churchill? Another quote: Dum Spiro Spero. As long as I breathe, I hope, by an old Roman (Cicero Cato?), usually translated as "Where there's life, there's hope." Another one: "Keep on truckin'", a comic book cha...

Re: first time post re: Prof Robert in France
Sadie-I have PN from a botched surgical procedure. Symptoms are totally right sided. One symptom is severe pain in my labia minora, rt. side. I too have noticed that the rt. labia minora appears to be shrinking over time .... very strange. It's almost disappearing. Do you know why this happens? ' My...

Re: Meds and more Meds
Rea-I can't tolerate gabapentin, so I was put on pregabalin (Lyrica). Both drugs are anti-seizure drugs. Lyrica is just a more refined version of Neurotonin. You should give gabapentin/Neurotoning more of a chance. The awful side effects will go away or minimize, believe me. I got my PN (confirmed b...

Re: cortisone nerve block
I had two cat scan guided nerve blocks performed by Dr. Howard Richard at the UofMD. When I was in the CT room with him before the procedure, I asked him what he could actually see on the cat scan and he said "only the pudendal canal." They cannot see the nerves themselves which is why the...

Re: Newly diagnosed
I am not an MD but it doesn't sound to me like you have PN. People with PN feel better when they stand up and sit on the toilet. They also feel worse when they sit in a chair. If you have pain all the time (whether you are sitting, standing lying down, etc.), you probably have some other problem in ...
