Re: New member with questions on PNE diagnosis
Thanks ACW, It just seems that I have dealt with this so long and I can't seem to get answers that make sense. The whole notion that just two antibiotics (Cipro and Bactrim) can make the pain and all symptoms go completlely away, while other antibiotics do nothing just doesn't add up to Antolak's te...

Re: Intro for new MN patient diagnosed with PN
Welcome Mel, I too had a similar experience with Antolak. I feel he had diagnosed me before I even saw him. I had 8 sets of PN injections with no success. He stated that this makes me an excellent candidate for surgery...... I currently am seeing an excellent pelvic PT sepcialist in Duluth (Tanner P...

Re: New member with questions on PNE diagnosis
Well, after the diagnosis of IC last November by Dr. Antolak, I wasn't sure what to expect. He prescribed 90 days of Cipro which I took as well as have been seeing a pelvic pain PT now since December. I had been functioning perfect with no pain the last several months. 5 to 7 miles a day on the trea...

Re: Surgery with Dr. Antolak???
I would be very interested in hearing about this as well as I am contemplating surgery with Dr. Antolak soon. Your comments are appreciated.

Re: Nerve entrapment location
Entrapment is only confirmed at surgery, but the 3T MRI is indicative of the location. For example, I am entrapped at the SS ligament by scar tissue. I have had all of the symptoms distal to that point, i.e. rectal pain, perineum pain, and clitoral pain. So it is most of the time not possible to ma...

Nerve entrapment location
Hello - I've tried to read as much as I can lately, and am not quite understanding this concept. (I'm in the mechanical engineering field - not in med field, but the body and engineering are similar...) As an example, my pain is only in the perineum, so wouldn't the nerve be entraped at the bottom o...

Re: PNE made worse from foods???
Thanks, I guess I am just trying to problem solve, and am questioning the PN diagnosis as related to food issues and other things that make the pain worse.

PNE made worse from foods???
I did a search but could not find anything on this so thought I would post a question. One thing that has me confused is I can't find the correlation between foods and PN. Dr. Antolak said it could easily be, but I'm not so sure from what I have read. For me, if I have minimal or even a high amount ...

Re: New member with questions on PNE diagnosis
Thanks Helen, I will post the outcome next month, and then post what I decide to move ahead with. It is so strange that I can have a few great days with no pain (but still taking ibuprohen, etc), and then have the next day be a 10 on the pain scale. It goes up and down.... I can tell the second I wa...
