Re: pain pump
From my limited experience, I would most definitely agree with the doctor to whom you spoke. I have also been told that neuropathic pain does not respond well to most traditional pain meds. I had a certain amount of pain relief from tramadol and from oxycodone, ie meds that are opiods - ok, tramadol...

Re: What to Do While on Ketamine?
I was only on ketamine for about half a day, post-op, and I spent my time sleeping and watching the pretty hallucinations. I could not have contemplated reading or watching tv, not by a million miles, I was far too 'out of it'. The ceiling tiles provided me with all the entertainment that I could po...

Re: Help? Pudendal nerve physio therapy?
Hi Poppy, you are not too far away from me in Wiltshire actually. I had surgery at Frenchay in Sept 2011 and then a bit more in July 2012. I haven't had any physio at all and I have no personal knowledge of any PN aware physios in the UK, apart from a chap in Edinburgh who is well spoken of. It is a...

Re: preparing your house for surgery
One tiny thing that might perhaps help someone - the thing about hairwashing - I have heard that these shampoo caps work really well. There are several different sorts available. I had them recommended to me by someone on another forum - did not need to use them myself, but passed the idea on to a f...

Re: Anger/hostile behaviour on amitriptyline
The information leaflet that comes with amitriptyline includes a warning - I will copy and paste. This is from the Medline Plus website, here . I have put some words in bold. You should know that your mental health may change in unexpected ways when you take amitriptyline or other antidepressants ev...

Re: Air Travel while in Pain
I've been taking topiramate with pregabalin since spring last year, and using tramadol for breakthrough pain - when I have had any. This has been an amazingly helpful combination for me, I was completely painfree for a good while and indeed am still pretty much painfree now if I am careful, even tho...

Re: ANYONE HAVING DIZZINESS WITH LYRICA/PREGABALIN
Really good to hear that you are feeling a bit brighter :) but do take it easy. Small steps are a good idea I think. As to whether it would be better to go to 50mg at night or to spread it out with 25mg both morning and evening, that's a hard call and I don't know that I actually have any suggestion...

Re: ANYONE HAVING DIZZINESS WITH LYRICA/PREGABALIN
Just thought I would add my voice here, hope that's ok - I did not have any side effects of weight gain, water retention, bloating, or anything like that at all with pregabalin. In fact I have managed to continue losing weight whilst taking pregabalin. I have been on it now for almost a year this ti...

Re: Hello All
Gary, if you are having thoughts about suicide, please please please take this seriously. You have mentioned it on here more than once, I remember this, and I can hear how unhappy you are, I am so sorry that things are difficult for you at the moment. Re: Hello All
I wish I could suggest a PN-aware physio here in the UK but we don't know of any at all apart from William Taylor in Edinburgh, he is the only one.
There is also Maeve Whelan but she is in Eire.
