Re: Getting a diagnosis
Yes, I read his published paper and discussed it with him. He seems to be a strong advocate of the re-do surgery and says he's seeing good results after tweaking the process. He trained under Prof Roberts, the surgeon who did my op in Nantes and has the highest respect for him. By modifying Prof Rob...

Re: Getting a diagnosis
Yes, Violet, similarly, although my pelvic floor muscles tighten and cause pain, I believe that the nerve is causing that through entrapment somewhere along the line. With the scans now showing a thickening of the ST ligament and pain in the vicinity of the incision, the probability of re-entrapment...

Re: Getting a diagnosis
Thanks for your thoughts on this. Yes, Dr Hibner seems to think that she is quite good and thorough in her assessment of the pelvic area. I'm just concerned about getting botox injections unnecessarily. Patients seems to think that it doesn't really work. If she is a PT how would she discount a musc...

Re: Getting a diagnosis
I have an appointment with Loretta and then with Dr Hibner the next day. I'm not sure seeing Loretta first is necessary because my scans show a thickening of the ST ligament indicative of scar tissue (this ligament was cut during the op in Nante). In view of this don't you think that Dr Hibner shoul...

Re: Getting a diagnosis
Hi Violet
I will certainly keep you posted. I'm being hopeful that something positive will materialize in Phoenix. Just gotta keep trying! It's a long haul from South Africa though.
Regards
Linkey

Re: Getting a diagnosis
Thanks Violet. I'm seeing Dr Hibner on the 22nd Aug and hopefully I will know where I'm going with this problem. I did a one hour skype consultation with him. Thanks for the info on how to send a personal message. I didn't look at this web page closely.

Linkey

Re: Getting a diagnosis
Hi Violet Thanks for your reply. Ali"s footnote to his replies notes Dr Hibner as the doctor who did his redo op in July last year. Is that incorrect? Violet, have you communicated with patients who've done redo's with Dr Hibner? And how successful is the op? How do I send a personal message to...

Re: Getting a diagnosis
Hello Everyone I'm in need of your valued views. It's 5 yrs since I've had surgery in France (Nantes) for bilateral PNE. The op relieved much of my pains although I had to travel to Nantes for nerve blocks every six to eight months for three years post op to treat residual pains. Last year September...

Re: PNE pain returns after 5 yrs of surgery
Hi Mahzi It would seem that a problem with the PN can recur. I had bilateral decompression surgery with Pr Roberts in Nantes in 2007. The sharp, stabbing pains all disappeared after the the op. I coped well with the residual pain with the use of a tens machine which enabled me to sit and drive. I we...
