Re: New Person with Pudendal Nerve Disorder
Update on my PN condition: I was diagnosed in 2011 with bilateral PN impingement after a particularly painful ride on an exercise bike. (Read my story in the success section )Even though I was lucky to have an experienced PN doctor, (Dr. Stanley Antolak) he did nothing to help me. None of his inject...

Re: New Person with Pudendal Nerve Disorder
February 2017 Update... I last had Shockwave therapy in Mid-November, 2016. It has been 3 months since those two sessions. I am happy to write that I have gained back a bit more freedom from pain and physical disability. As I have documented through the years on this site, I have found great improve...

Re: New Person with Pudendal Nerve Disorder
2016 Summary I had two shockwave sessions this year, one in February, and another in November, my 5th and 6th sessions total. The February treatment was concentrated on my right side only, as shockwave has cleared the left side. I made great progress after these three sessions, and had about 6 month...

Re: New Person with Pudendal Nerve Disorder
Progress Update It has been 7 months since the last session of Shockwave therapy in Cornwall, Ontario. It has been a very good 7 months. All the gains that were made during those three sessions have remained. I can do just about anything, except ride a bike (never again) and sit on a really soft cus...

Re: New Person with Pudendal Nerve Disorder
KathyD: I am still doing well. I don't really have any pain, just minor symptoms now. What a relief. I can do things again that I have not done (without a lot of pain) in 5 years. To answer some of your questions: 1. Stress does not seem to make my condition worse and I'm thankful for that. I was on...

Re: New Person with Pudendal Nerve Disorder
shockwave has the potential to break up your triggers. It worked for me. In regards to the length of appointment, mine have been about 45 minutes in length. Dr. Andrews tries to place 25,000 impulses into the affected area each session. This is about 30 minutes worth of shockwave. The breaks he give...

Re: New Person with Pudendal Nerve Disorder
kathyd: My battle to get functional has been waged over a 5 year period. At first I could not sit at all either. Shockwave was the only factor/therapy that enabled me to sit again. Before shockwave, I could not stretch either. I was up in Ottawa/Cornwall in February, 2016, and had the best subsequen...

Re: New Person with Pudendal Nerve Disorder
By the way, there are no shockwave providers in the USA thanks to restrictions placed on shockwave therapy by the FDA. I have written to the FDA to lift these restrictions to no avail. So the only place you can go in North America for shockwave is Canada.

Re: New Person with Pudendal Nerve Disorder
I have several stretches that I do to stay limber. I don't know what they are called, so perhaps best to describe them.... 1. Seated butterfly stretch Sit on floor (use a cushion with a cut-out if it hurts to sit), and place soles of the feet together, with knees splayed outward. Now flatten knees a...

Re: New Person with Pudendal Nerve Disorder
Two months post-op from shockwave therapy in Cornwall (this was my fifth trip to see Dr. Andrews): The last treatments were very effective in targeting the trouble spots on my right pudendal nerve and perineum. After the three treatments, I felt much better. And two months later, continuing daily st...
