Re: Re-Do Surgery
Re-do surgeries are tough to decide. I agree with the other posts to try and confirm other potnetial causes of your pain. My wife's PN problem is 80% betterbut we now find ourselves chasing Sacrol soft tissue nerve pain. Are they realted to the PN? We will never know. If Maria had not gone through t...

PN Surgery Update 20 Months Later
I have not posted in some time and provide the following update to help others. Maria's first symptom start in June 2008. One year to diagnose PN as possible cause. First surgery to Right PN failed to provide relief. Second surgery (Bi-laterial) provided short term relief. Third surgery provided rel...

Embrel Injections For Nerve Inflammation
I am not endorsing the following and not a doctor. For those who have known nerve inflammation you may want to research Embrel Injections to help calm the nerve pain. After Maria's PN surgery she still had pain though greatly reduced. Since her condition is very complex and includes sacrum and leg p...

Surgery Update - There is hope out there
Hello, it has been well over six months since I posted and felt it was time to provide an update on Maria. This week was her one year anniversary of her fourth Pudendal Nerve surgery and we are cautiously optimistic we finally got it right. I can not say enough about the determination by Dr. Filler ...

Re: Pudendal guy in California
In regards to Dr. Filler I can attest that his approach to surgery does appear to be the small incisions where he thinks the entrapment is located. He does use nerve block injections to isolate the area first then does the surgery. My wife has had three surgeries with him and we thought he got it on...

Re: 4th Surgery
Just when you think things can not get worse Maria had to have emergency Hematoma surgery to her right incision area. A torn muscle very close to the area of surgery. Dr. Filler pulled out all the stops for us getting us in at Cedars Sania on Christmas Eve after Kaiser turned us away on December 23r...

Re: 4th Surgery
Maria was on a 7 day Medral Pak then 30 Day Predisone (10mg @ 3xday for 10 days, 2xday for 10 days, 1xday for 10 days). If she had not been through enough on 12/23 I rushed to the ER for a swollen incision that turned out to be a hematoma (internal bleeding). Kaiser Hospital would not touch after 10...

4th Surgery
It has been a while since I posted but thought some would be interested in my wife's fourth surgery in 12 months. A quick history: Suffering 2.5 years, diagnosed 1.5 years ago. First surgery right piriformus muscle - no success. Second surgery was bi-lateral piriformus and obertrator internus - six ...

Re: Considering PNE Surgery
Yes she has PN. First surgery was right side only. No improvement. Then her left vulva started to act up so we optioned for bi-laterial surgery of the Obitrator-internus and Piriformas muscles. Six weeks later she was almost pain free and driving short distances. After sitting for 2 hours one day af...

Re: Considering PNE Surgery
How did your visit go with Dr Conway? Regarding surgery, it is a difficult question at best. My wife has been suffering for 2.5 years and had three surgeries over the past 16 months (long story). We are now at the crossroads again debating if we try a forth. What ever you decide to do make sure you ...
