Re: Acetabular Labral Tears
Yes, try the treatments. I have had lots of physical therapy and osteopathic manipulation. I love osteopathic treatments! You could get the fascia released around the hip and this could help. BUT... Labral tears and structural issues with the hip such as femoroacetabular impingement can be very hard...

Also to answer the question on what the MRI with contrast is like, the injection is into the joint (not the arm).

Re: Acetabular Labral Tears
P.S. - Here is an awesome yahoo group for femoral acetabular impingement. There are like 4000 people on here and they can provide feedback on doctors, treatments, etc. and answer questions. I've found it very helpful. http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/Fe ... pingement/

Re: Acetabular Labral Tears
I had an injury in my right hip where I can remember my hip making a loud "crack" sound when I rode my bike. It wasn't that I did anything like fall off the bike, etc., I was riding along and my hip made a cracking sound and I then had excruciating pain that lasted a couple of hours. It to...

Re: Acetabular Labral Tears
This is exactly the reason I posted. Both I and my pelvic pain specialist were amazed at the change. But I did EVERYTHING else POSSIBLE first. Four years of going to my pelvic floor specialist. Four years of pelvic floor therapy both with the specialist and in my home town (starting 3 times per week...

Re: Acetabular Labral Tears
My pelvic pain specialist says the problem was obviously related to the hip rotators. The pelvic floor and hip muscles just settled down after the surgery. Yes, the pelvis is much happier. I'm now doing a bunch of exercises that I'd never been able to do before as I make it through the post-op proto...

Re: Acetabular Labral Tears
Hello. I had someone email me requesting an update. I sent it to them, but wanted to post. I went in to Stanford University for treatment on the femoroacetabular impingement (pincer impingement) and labral tear in February, 2012. Woke up in recovery and my pudendal pain was - GONE!!!!!!! I'm present...

Re: Dr Weiss - personal experiences
He's a wonderful doctor. Every single thing he's said has been correct. I've been a patient for several years. I had nerve blocks from him. It was extremely helpful. He only had to do it once and the constant numbness went away. I do still have pudendal issues, but they are not from an entrapment. I...

Re: Prolotheraphy
I'm late to post on this topic, but I've had some prolotherapy. I'm still doing it. Yes, it's expensive. It's usually a physical medicine and rehabilitation specialist who does it. There are different types of doctors who do it, though. I've spent about $1,500 and my illium no longer "recline&q...
