Re: Tens help
Success with a TENS unit does not guarantee success with a stimulator. In fact, I derive much more relief from the TENS unit than I did the neurostimulator or the interstim.

Re: Nevro
I recently read an article stating this new type of stimulator has been bought by the St. Jude Company, and clinical trials started this month. I applied for the trial but was denied. I was not given a reason.

Re: Neurostimulation Dr. in Ohio for PN patients
Thanks to everyone for the kind words. I have been reading about Dr.Ken Peters at Beaumont Univ. He places the lead on the pudendal nerve and has found his patients prefer this type of stimulation. I just don't know if it is wise to have a stimulator implanted so far from home. It makes adjustments ...

Re: Neurostimulation Dr. in Ohio for PN patients
Matt, I am considering a neurostimulator as well. April 12, I have to undergo a psych. evaluation as a requirement for Medicare. My neurosurgeon plans to put leads in the spine at T8 and also caudally to hopefully hit the perineum. The whole procedure is complicated, because my spine is fused from T...

Re: Hamstring/Adductor Tendinosis and PN
Sometimes my pain follows that route but it seems to be like a knife at base labia lateral to perineum. I have also started having severe pain laterally where buttock meets thigh. Maybe sciatic entrapped in hamstrung tendon??

Re: Hamstring/Adductor Tendinosis and PN
Since having pudendal and sciatic nerve decompression surgery, I have continued to have severe pain, including pain lateral to the perineum, in close proximity to the inner thigh. I convinced my PCP to let me try the Nitro patches. It's true about the headaches, but after three days, I no longer had...

Re: Maybe another surgery
Violet, The diagrams I was referring to and used by Beautrant, are on this website. He labels the piriformis muscle, and it is very high, next to where the sacral nerve roots merge to form the pudendal nerve. The ST ligament has been removed, so maybe if the surgeon actually cuts where the ligament ...

Re: Maybe another surgery
Karyn,
I don't know where you got the impression Dr. Chambi does not address pudendal nerve entrapment where the sacrospinous and sacrotuberous ligaments cross. Actually, he believes this is the most common site of entrapment. According to what I have read, he is correct. Paulette

Re: Walking
Jackie, I have had pudendal nerve decompression surgery and piriformis release, and I still develop pain when I walk very far. I am so glad to hear of someone who has the same thing happening. The scary part is that I still develop the pain you describe and have had two surgeries. I wonder if there ...
