Botox into Piriformis
Zoom call with Bollens. He wants me to have Botox into piriformis. He has based this on the fact that I have pain in my butt which goes down the leg (nerve pain) alongside gluteal crease, Sitbone, groin and perineum pain. He says 90 percent sure this is where my problem is coming from. Mine is cause...

Re: Why should the lumbar be checked on mri?
Thanks for this violet. So this would differ from a lumbar mri which showed my L5-S1 and L4-S5 bulges. Does the sacrum mri look at nerves or just the bone? Will order MRIs. Funnily enough I had another fall onto my back onto concrete 6 weeks ago and now have bone marrow oedema of the sacrum. They ca...

Why should the lumbar be checked on mri?
New to this so lots of questions. Many posts say get back checked out as a possible culprit. Why is this? I do have a problem with my back. My problem actually started after a fall onto the back. l5-S1 and L4-S5 abutting but not compressing the sciatic nerve. 6 months of severe back pain and sciatic...

Soft tissue oedema obturator internus on MRI?
Recent mri of pelvis shows Subtle soft tissue oedema in the distal and lateral aspect of the left obturator internus muscle and tendon, suggesting mild insertional tendinopathy and/or mild sprain. Could this be a contributing factor to pn symptoms? Had lots of other mild stuff found too. Gluteus med...

Re: Pn with none of the classic symptoms
Thanks for taking the time to reply. I do have mild ischial bursitis which was noted on a recent ultrasound. However, it was not noted on a previous ultrasound I had done 10 months ago. I don’t think ischial bursitis pain goes into the labia and wouldn’t cause the pinching/stretching discomfort on t...

Re: Pn with none of the classic symptoms
Thanks so much for replying. I have had nerve blocks with cortisone. One didn’t make me numb anywhere, not even for a minute, still in pain directly after, but I had a massive flare up of pain for about a month after. Considered a failed block. Another, last week, I was only numb in the labia but no...

Can you have cortisone flare if it’s not pn
Hopefully someone can answer. If you have a pudendal block with cortisone can you get a flare up from the cortisone if you haven’t got pudendal problem? For example if a perfectly healthy person had a pudendal block would they then have a flare of pudendal pain/symptoms or experience nothing? Reason...

Pn with none of the classic symptoms
Can you have pn if you have no pain in the vagina or anus? Consultant (neurosurgeon) is adamant it is possible. My pain is centred around the ischial tuberosity (inner side near labia) with pain down the length of the hamstring to the back of knee. It can also be felt in the piriformis and I have a ...
