Re: "Ending Female Pain"
Faith, In terms of pelvic pain books written by PT"s, I think it's the best one out there. It has the most comprehensive overview of pelvic pain conditions and treatments, and lots of self-care approaches. I don't think any of these books are the answer for someone with a truly entrapped nerve,...

Re: Newbie
Hi Alli, I was still a newlywed when my pelvic pain and then PN started, so I understand the toll this takes on a young marriage. I'm also a person who has experienced healing and some pain relief over the period of a couple of years, so that CAN happen without surgery. Congratulations on the pregna...

Re: Pregnant with PN
Candice, I responded to your PM, but I just wanted to say I think Faith has also given you some excellent advice and support here. Like everyone, I urge you seek counseling before you make any of these decisions. I wish you the best. I'm happy to chat with you more via PM or here. Edited to add that...

Re: having kids?
Hi Emily, I'm the Lauren that Faith is referring to. I'm six months pregnant and do have a history of endo. Mine was/is "extensive stage III", but I am fortunate in that I had no permanent tubal scarring or blockages, and very little ovarian involvement. After trying for over a year, we un...

Re: has anyone been cured by pt?
I'm not cured, but I got quite a bit better with PT as part of my treatment. I'm pretty functional, although I do have daily pain at manageable levels and do have limitations. Better than I was!

Re: This condition is so confusing please advise
Laura, there are people who can live with a low level of PN pain indefinitely as long as they are careful. The pain and severity does not progress for everyone. Unless you can see a definite entrapment on an MRI or MRN prior to surgery, there's no way to know for sure if you have an entrapment so I...

Re: DR. Hal Martin and decompression surgery.
Boomer sooner!! :D OU grad here. I only know what information is on this board about Dr. Martin and his work with PNE surgery. I had arthroscopic hip surgery with him for a labral tear and femoroacetabular impingement this summer. Very positive experience, and I'm glad I had him as my surgeon. He an...

Re: So Afraid!
Something to remember is that a lot of the people posting here are still looking for answers. There are people who have been helped by more conservative measures; and they're not around anymore. Or, those that have been helped a lot by surgery are off living their lives.
Hang in there.

Re: Chronic pelvic/body pain
I am very sorry, Candice. Can you start over with some new doctors? A family practice doc, and a pain management doc? Don't mention anxiety/depression; focus solely on the physical symptoms. I would think you might need some tests run by the family practice doc just to check out your overall health....
