Re: 2024 Transgluteal Surgery with Dr. Conway
Hi Lyn, I’m almost a year post-op from a left sided TG approach with Dr. Conway. Met all the Nantes criteria, exhausted almost all the conservative measures besides loading up on meds etc etc. He helped me quite a bit, I would say I am maybe 60-70% better. Unfortunately in my case I believe my root ...

Re: PN atrophy
Nope - different nerves innervate through the lower extremities, long term damage of the PN can result in impotence, urinary and bowel incontinence depending on where it’s affected. This would be late stage.

Re: Has anyone had this happen during recovery
Within 5-10 minutes I’d have pretty intense pain going down my perineum into the scrotum with sitting in general, the firmer or harder the chair base the worse it would be. Sexual activity would send my pelvic floor muscles into awful spasms and nerve flaring for quite sometime. Bowel movements as w...

Re: Has anyone had this happen during recovery
Hi Sight, I’m about 7 months post op and I was definitely almost worse pain wise with sitting for the first few months with significant improvements in nerve function. It really does take a while for the nerves to settle down and start developing in their new home if your nerves/vessels were transpo...

Re: Was surgery the right choice for you?
I had surgery this past year (transgluteal) approach in the states. I had all of the signs and symptoms of pudendal nerve entrapment with worsening nerve dysfunction despite multiple rounds of pelvic floor therapy, pelvic floor stretching, acupuncture and nerve blocks. In my case, surgery was the on...

Increased Burning Pain 5 months Post-Op
Hi all, I’m looking to see if anyone had similar experiences as I’m having. I am approximately 5 months post-op from a left sided transgluteal pudendal nerve decompression. It’s been ups and downs as everyone has warned me about. Luckily I’ve had significant improvements in sensation, sexual functio...

Re: Scar Tissue Mobilization Post Op
Hi Violet, I should try to do those more. Dr. Conway doesn’t really give a ton of post op instructions at all - I know Dr. Hibner recommends these gliding exercises. I was walking avidly since post op day 1 which I think has helped too. Dr. Conway brought up scar tissue mobilization as in finding a ...

Scar Tissue Mobilization Post Op
Hi everyone, I am about 3 months out from a pudendal nerve decompression and it is slowly but surely getting less painful and awkward to sit. I had pudendal nerve entrapment in two places. All my other dysfunctional symptoms are improving significantly. That being said I’m wondering if anyone has pu...

Pelvic floor therapy after PN decompression surgery
Has anyone pursued pelvic floor therapy after getting a unilateral or bilateral pudendal nerve decompression performed with positive pudendal nerve entrapment - if so how’d it go for you? Perceived benefits? Made you feel worse? Just curious - the literature is slim to none on this subject. Apprecia...
